In theory creating a bedroom doesn’t seem so hard – after all it’s just a bit of wall paint and cushions right?
Oh so wrong.
When it comes to anything on The Block, it’s never easy or drama free, and the master bedrooms were no exception.
The lead up to reveals as always showed competitive streaks, strategic motives and whole lot of hard working.
Notably the master bedroom week gave viewers some simple and doable inspirations for their own room – as well as some definite style envy.
And so the highlights…
The winners of master bedroom week Kim and Chris, proved once and for all that size really does matter, especially when your bedroom is bigger than most people’s apartment.
Adding a living area to the room definitely created a sense of tranquility, making the room feel like an all round escape – one could literally sleep, watch television an
Particular attention was paid to the colour pallet, whist on one hand it’s quite neutral – it allows for the subtle pops of colour to really stand out.
My absolute favorite room second week running was from the girls – Sasha and Julia.
Every corner could only be describes as pure luxury – the richness of the bedhead, the amazing dusty pink sofa and paying subtle homage to Art Deco by using elements of gold, which ties in beautifully to the rest of their apartment.
The girl’s artwork was simply sublime, choosing fashion inspired black & white prints and having them framed – such a a simple idea, but works so well with their colour pallet, and definitely a style that can be re-created in any home.
A noticeable point of difference was made by Karlie and Will with their feature wall.
The young couple have certainly made a name for themselves in creating unique feature walls all the way through – giving audiences new ideas for their own rooms.
For their master bedroom a a wall of floor to ceiling wood panels were created, giving the room both an edge and a sense of warmth.
Though they came last this week the boy Adam and Ben did have one element that no girl could overlook – a shoe closet.
The boys were an absolute miss on style this week – but the practicality of a spinning shoe closet in their walk in wardrobe was genius, and definitely food for thought when building your next closet.
What can we expect next week….
With a laundry, hallway and powder room to be complete in one week – one can only imagine the dramas yet to come.
But one thing we can expect is a whole lot of style.
