Greetings!
I want to be clear that I’m not trying to scare you.
I have no idea what’s going to happen your investments, your job, the economy or the markets.
But I do know that worrying about them doesn’t help.
Let me repeat that.
Worry. Does. Not. Help.
Worry is to feel or cause to feel anxious or troubled about actual or potential problems.
To fret.
Be anxious.
Brood.
Lose sleep.
I can’t find a single useful thing in that definition.
Worrying about your investments won’t make them drop less in a scary market.
Worrying about your job won’t help you keep it.
Worrying about your health won’t help you avoid disease.
Can you name one thing that got better because you worried about it?
Before you answer, keep in mind that careful consideration of the worst case — making plans and taking action — is different than worry.
If you think I’m missing something, just hit reply and talk to me.
Carl
P.S. If you know someone that could use this little message, feel free to forward it on to them.
Maybe we can recruit them in this effort to rid the world of worry.
